Teresa Gergen's climbing resume as of Oct 2005:

Sept 1991

- Grand Canyon:  down S. Kaibab, up Bright Angel with detour to Phantom Ranch, in one day.  First significant hike.

1991-1995

- Trail hiking near Tucson, AZ including Class 1 peaks like Mt. Lemmon, Mt. Wrightston, Mt. Kimball.  My passion at this time was Tae Kwon Do.

- Moved back home to CO in June 1995.

1995-1997

- Hiked virtually all of the trails in Boulder Mtn. Parks, Boulder County Open Space, Jefferson County Open Space, all of the greater Denver area bike paths, all the trails on the Indian Peaks Wilderness, Rocky Mountain National Park, and Estes Park area Trails Illustrated maps, and all the trails in Colorado State Parks that had enough trail miles for hiking to make them worth bothering to visit.  Because there were trails to them on the maps, I ended up doing my first CO peaks – Audubon, Chapin, Chiquita, and Ypsilon.  I did not climb Longs Peak while focused on the RMNP trails, and didn't think I ever could.  At this point I decided my niche was endurance trail-hiking.

1997-1999

- Dayhiked the entire Colorado Trail point-to-point once in each direction, a total of a bit less than 1000 miles.

6/1999-8/2001

- Climbed all of Colorado's 54 officially recognized 14ers, plus Cameron and Challenger.

- Accepted that I was addicted.

2000

- Went backpacking for the first time.

- Grand Canyon North Rim to South Rim in one day, including a detour to Plateau Point.

2001

- Learned how to rock climb.

8/2001-end 2002

- Climbed 133 ranked Colorado 13ers and repeated some 14ers with friends.

- Started climbing easy peaks in winter; first time ever hiked on snow / used snowshoes.

- Didn't yet own crampons.

- Learned how to downhill ski.

- Realized I thoroughly enjoyed rock climbing up to 5.9.

2003

- Trekked for 3 weeks in NZ, my first international trip.

- Started lead climbing, but never got very good (5.5).

- Climbed 162 new ranked CO 13ers, well over ¼ of the total number of 13ers, in one year.

- Climbed an additional 25 peaks that were repeat 14ers and 13ers, unranked 13ers, or lower peaks.

2004

- Mt. Kilimanjaro via the Machame Route.

- Climbed 199 new ranked CO 13ers, plus 84 other peaks.

- Finished the High 100, 200, and 300 in CO.

- First time climbing 13ers and 14ers elsewhere in the US:  CA and NV.

2005

- Orizaba via the Jamapa Glacier, and an attempt on Izta via the Arista del Sol route.

- Climbed my remaining 90 ranked 13ers, finishing the High 400, 500, and 600 in the process, plus over 100 other peaks, many of them 12ers.

- Climbed the 13ers in HI and NM.

- Grand Canyon Rim-Rim-Rim in under 24 hours.

- Finished the CO county highpoints.
